Every year, we partner with Chic to unveil a brand-new festive theme at Plaisterers’ Hall — transforming our historic venue into a Christmas masterpiece. In 2024, we embraced a regal festive aesthetic, with luxurious gold and navy décor setting an opulent tone throughout the Hall. Real fir trees, twinkling fairy lights, and grand door arches framed the space, while soft uplighting brought everything to life as night fell.
The pièce de résistance — our magnificent 21-foot Christmas tree — takes pride of place in the Great Hall, creating a breathtaking focal point for guests as they dine beneath its shimmering lights.
Adding to the splendour, the Great Hall features three 15-foot sparkling chandeliers and a fully customisable lighting system that allows us to transform the atmosphere in an instant. From golden glows during dinner to cool, vibrant tones for dancing, we tailor the ambience perfectly to every stage of the evening — a detail that truly sets us apart.
Our state-of-the-art sound system enhances the experience even further, filling every corner of the venue — from the cloakroom and entrance hall to the main event space — with festive music. This year, we are opting for a ‘winter wonderland meets Narnia’ theme. Choosing white and warm lights, golds and creams, as well as pinecones, furs, feathers, snowflakes and reindeers. We always ensure we have a ‘picture wall’ which is an area elaborately decorated for guests to have their photo taken. This is always a huge crowd pleaser.

We work in partnership with Company of Cooks who take many initiatives to be socially responsible, whilst trying to minimise their operation on the planet. From creating careers for local people to helping their valued larder suppliers and protecting the planet. All this is to benefit the local, regional and global community, with employment opportunities for local people and buying through their hand-picked larder of artisan suppliers .
They apply a ‘local larder’ philosophy to our partner venues with the UK divided into regions, each boasting a larder of high-quality suppliers across all key categories.
The London Larder brings together our London-based suppliers for a bespoke approach; think high-end British charcuterie from Cobble Lane, cheeses from Paxton & Whitfield or the finest tapenade from Belazu; our Larder delivers exceptional quality food with a story to tell. Offering the finest ingredients, with less delivery miles.
They work hard to help our us achieve our zero carbon and zero waste goals. This includes partnering up with schemes such as Olio, Too Good to Go and Neighbourly to distribute surplus food to communities and individuals. All food waste is weighed and tracked and portion sizes adjusted accordingly, on a weekly basis.
Company of cooks are also partnered with Well Grounded, an award-winning social enterprise, launched in 2016 to support the UK’s unemployed with the skills to access sustainable careers in coffee. They create social change by partnering with the coffee industry to provide opportunities for skilled, passionate and committed individuals to grow.
On top of all this, they hold ‘The Good Egg’ award, promote delicious plant based dishes and only serve ethical seafood that is declared ‘good to eat’ by the Marine Conservation Society.
