Our vessels operate using Shell GTL (Gas-to-Liquid) Fuel, a cleaner-burning diesel alternative that significantly reduces harmful emissions such as NOx, particulates, and sulphur. Sourced through Thames Marine Services in partnership with Certas Energy, it allows us to deliver festive experiences on the Thames while reducing our environmental footprint without engine modifications or service disruptions.

On the catering side, Food by Dish champions ethical sourcing, seasonal produce, and low-carbon menus. Over 80% of ingredients are sourced from within 50 miles of TLC’s kitchen, supporting local farmers and reducing food miles. Partners like County Supplies (BRC & Red Tractor certified), Bethnal Green Fish (SALSA approved), and The Ethical Butcher (regenerative farming) ensure traceability, sustainability, and animal welfare. Surplus food is donated to City Harvest, and all cooking oil is recycled via Olleco into biodiesel.

Further impact is delivered through packaging reductions, composting, and water conservation efforts at events. Internally, a dedicated Green Team leads ongoing staff sustainability training and initiatives, while social responsibility is equally prioritised. Every catered guest funds a school meal via One Feeds Two, and all coffee served is from Change Please supporting homelessness with 100% of profits.

This year alone, over 300 trees will be planted through Make It Wild, offsetting emissions and increasing urban biodiversity. Meanwhile, Dish and TLC both invest in electric delivery and service vehicles, and actively promote car-free transport options for staff and guests.
