113 Chancery Lane: Rich in history, undeniable charm and natural daylight, 113 Chancery Lane offers a distinctive setting for conferences, meetings, awards dinners, Christmas parties, drinks receptions, and weddings that demand both impact and elegance.
Set in the heart of London’s legal district, this Grade II* listed building unfolds across nine beautifully appointed spaces, from grand, chandelier-lit rooms perfect for keynote addresses, to refined chambers ideal for roundtables, workshops and private meetings. Every space tells a story, with period features, rich detailing and an atmosphere that quietly commands attention.
All rooms have distinct and spectacular features, offering a versatile and stylish venue option for conferences and events. Grandeur, tradition, majestic architecture, style, and impeccable service. Different spaces to hire, distinctive and varied in size, but one thing remains the same: their impressive stature.
Beautiful alcoves, stained-glass windows, grand chandeliers, and marble pillars give this venue opulence and a sense of history, all seamlessly and subtly integrated with the technology needed for a modern feel.
And when the formal agenda ends, the opulent inner rooms invite delegates to gather, connect and reflect over drinks and conversation in surroundings that feel both impressive and inviting.
Every year we choose a different theme to transform the venue for the Christmas season. In 2025 the theme was Masquerade Ball.
113 Chancery Lane is one of London’s most prestigious venues, and we wanted to ensure all clients celebrating Christmas with us have an unforgettable experience. The Masquerade Ball theme perfectly fitted with the venue features & the backdrop of stunning Georgian architecture, for sophisticated, elegant Christmas celebrations.
The transformation of 113 Chancery Lane for this festive season was based on the concept of a "secret," an immersive journey that marries the venue’s legal heritage with the opulent mystery of a Venetian masquerade. Inspiration was drawn from the building’s own architectural grandeur—specifically its intricate wood carvings and soaring stained-glass windows, which mirror the dramatic aesthetics of a Masquerade Ball.
We started developing the concept early on, discussing options and how best to ensure the venue is truly transformed. We wanted to ensure that the space feels less like a traditional venue and more like an invitation into an exclusive, hidden world where the boundaries between the past and present blur. We discussed colour schemes, decor options and what would ensure maximum impact for guests. Development took two months, discussing options with suppliers, set-ups, installation options etc. As we have different rooms for hire, we wanted to ensure that every space is transformed and looks truly spectacular.
Once the decorations were confirmed, we designed brochures, online material, and promotional features to match the theme and represent the concept.
We discussed themed entertainment options with our suppliers to contribute to the theme and guests' experience.
Christmas trees and garlands were decorated with big velvet bows, feathers, masks, and green and gold ornaments.
Table centrepieces were created with masks, flowers, jewels, and feathers for maximum impact.
Rooms were transformed with draping, entrance features, electric candles, and lanterns.
We used red uplighters to illuminate the outside of the building, ensuring a grand entrance for all guests. More uplighters were used around the venue and in all rooms to illuminate the decor. Lights were dimmed for a dramatic effect, and we included entertainment options to personalise each event, depending on the client's preference, to include DJs, bands, casino tables, and photo booths.
On arrival, guests received masks to set the tone and the mood for the evening immediately.
The transformation completely changed the client's expectations of 113 Chancery Lane, shedding its daytime persona for an aura of theatrical escapism to result is a profound psychological shift for attendees.
We offer seasonal menus, created by our Head Chef to ensure all produce is used in a creative way to present vibrant dishes, ensure less waste and to cater for all dietary requirements and allergies whilst still offering interesting options for all guests.
Every element was designed to ensure the theme remained seamless from the first bite to the final toast.
We created bespoke themed cocktails for guests' arrival as part of the packages. These included options like Masquerade Mule, Midnight Spritz, Velvet Blizzard, Cranberry Velvet. Clients had a choice of options to personalise their experiences.
Christmas packages were personalised to excite clients and named such as The Phantom Feast or A Toast in Disguise. We offered traditional seated service as well as roaming options inspired by the Venetian "Cicchetti" culture, perfectly suitable for a Masquerade Ball —sophisticated, small-plate delicacies that encourage movement and social fluidity. A decorated themed dessert table concept was also created as an alternative to a three-course meal, where the last course is served as an extravagant dessert presentation.
The team strives to create a relationship with every client, to ensure they are not just an event coordinator but a trusted advisor for every customer and can offer solutions and ideas to make every event special.
We are committed to excellence and strive for positive customer experiences. All teams wanted to WOW Christmas clients with our Masquerade Ball theme.
To execute a transformation of this scale within a Grade II listed building like 113 Chancery Lane, our approach relied on precision and planning —ensuring the magic appeared seamlessly without the guests ever seeing the effort behind the curtain. All teams aligned to ensure we hosted the mystery throughout the night.
We have different spaces, and on a few occasions, we hosted three Christmas parties at once. From the moment the first guest arrived, the organisation was designed to be frictionless. We implemented processes to prevent queues and immediately immerse guests in the environment. This level of behind-the-scenes coordination meant that while the atmosphere may have sometimes felt chaotic, the execution was entirely controlled and seamless for all guests.
We prioritised high-impact aesthetics that minimised environmental footprints, proving that opulence does not require excess waste. We used local suppliers where possible for decor.
We reused certain decorations that we had in stock from previous years. All lanterns, candelabras and candles were LED ones to ensure they can be reused throughout the season and in the future.
Decor was chosen to achieve a bespoke look while ensuring every item can be used in future events.
Our Head chef crafted the festive menus using the finest seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, bringing warmth, flavour and a touch of indulgence to every dish. For our food, we use seasonal British ingredients wherever possible and ingredients with a focus on the local and sustainable supply chain.
We aim to: Source best quality ingredients in an ethical and responsible way from local suppliers and producers. To work with farmers who are certified by independent organisations like LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming), PFLA (Pasture Fed for Life meat and dairy), Soil Association Organic, Rain Forest Alliance, RSPCO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil), MSC (Marine Stewardship Council for fish), Fair-trade and much more.
We strive to know exactly where all our ingredients and products come from, know how they have been grown and support our suppliers to achieve best quality at fair prices. We work with our suppliers to ensure they recognise and reduce the environmental impact of the production and transportation of their products and focus on energy-efficient delivery vehicles on consolidated routes.
What truly sets the 113 Chancery Lane experience apart is our ability to balance heritage & prestige with modern theatricality. While many London venues offer "themed" parties, we provide a full-scale transformation that leverages the unique architectural features of the venue. There were traditional Christmas trees, lights, garlands and baubles, but also a full decor production to fully incorporate the Masquerade Ball theme.
Unlike modern "blank canvas" spaces, our events benefit from the natural characteristics of a Grade II* listed building. We didn’t just decorate the rooms, we used and highlighted all aspects on site, including the stained glass, mahogany panelling, marbles, as active characters in our Masquerade Ball theme narrative.
Personalisation and flexibility were key to ensuring unforgettable client experiences. With nine distinct spaces, we were able to offer multiple Christmas parties simultaneously or offer a "multi-space" event journey, where guests can start in the contemporary Six Clerks restaurant for a secret cocktail arrival reception and transition into the grand Reading Room for a high-impact reveal formal dinner. We truly believe this is a flow that most single-room venues cannot replicate.
Creating a fully immersive Christmas theme concept really makes a difference to every client, making their Christmas parties unforgettable experiences.
Guests and organisers were truly WOWed and we received phenomenal feedback from all.
