We believe catering goes far beyond food and drink - it begins with genuinely listening to a client’s brief. We don’t rely on packages or a “one size fits all” approach. We take the time to truly engage with our clients, understand what matters most, and identify non-negotiables. This personalised approach lays the foundation for strong relationships and builds confidence from the outset, ensuring clients feel heard, valued and understood.
Our aim is to reassure clients that they are in safe, capable hands. We want them to trust our team to interpret their vision and bring it to life with care and precision. The organiser should be able to feel only the excitement of the occasion and be relaxed enough to step back and enjoy watching everything come together.
Catering an event is about every detail that shapes the guest experience: the warmth of the first smile from a staff member, thoughtfully selected drinks, and the comfort and connection that well-prepared food naturally creates. Each event is unique, and our approach balances creativity with approachability, always guided by a strong commitment to sustainability.
We believe it’s the smaller details that make the biggest difference. This year, our menus featured a signature Searcys Christmas pudding made using the original John Searcys recipe. Over 3,000 puddings were served during the festive period, receiving excellent feedback.
Thoughtful touches elevate the experience and set us apart. One corporate client recently commented on how meaningful it was that we remembered their owner’s favourite tequila - moments like this build trust and create true partnerships. Recent feedback such as “the team went above and beyond” and “the service and food created an unbelievably special night” perfectly captures what we strive to achieve.
At 116 Pall Mall on the 11th December, we had 870 guests across 6 events running at the same time.
Feedback from one of the events on the evening:
‘Our Christmas event was an absolute triumph, thanks to your incredible venue and outstanding team. The planning process was remarkably seamless, with your team demonstrating impressive flexibility and attention to small nuances, which made organisation effortless. The beautiful space and walk up to the space itself, delicious food, and exceptional service, created a truly memorable experience for all our guests. We couldn't have asked for a better event.’
Smooth delivery, professionalism, and attention to detail are driven by our team’s significant operational wealth of experience, combined with robust planning and clear communication. Our process begins with ongoing collaboration between the operations, sales, and event planning teams, ensuring alignment from initial enquiry through to delivery. Regular planning meetings and structured post-event debriefs enable us to consistently replicate successful elements while proactively refining those that require improvement.
Each event is supported by a detailed event sheet prepared by our team and formally signed off by the client. This document captures both operational and venue-specific requirements, as well as the underlying purpose of the event and the intended guest experience. Clear handovers between teams ensure that all information is accurately transferred, and the final version of all documentation is approved in partnership with the client.
Our professionalism on the day is reinforced by rigorous training and a strong commitment to cross-training. All front-of-house staff receive comprehensive allergen training, with designated allergen champions leading best practice during service. This ensures guest safety, consistency, and confidence, while allowing the team to respond effectively to the dynamic nature of live events. Quarterly General Manager meetings provide a forum to share operational experience, ideas, and key strategies.
All our core Christmas favourites across our venues are created by our executive chef team and presented to the business at a showcase in October, we work closely with key suppliers to ensure the best quality ingredients are available for our chef teams across our venues.
We work with our bakery partners to develop bespoke Christmas products to be used across our retail and events business, this year we produced our own Christmas pudding using an original John Searcy recipe which was served across all our venues, a total of 3000 was produced. Each pudding was crafted by hand, using a recipe that celebrates over 175 years of Searcys’ British hospitality. Searcys strive to create exceptional food inspired by our British heritage.
We have a strong food strategy which give our chefs parameters to work within when creating dishes for their venues ensuring the food produced is in line with the Searcys brand standard. Searcys celebrates British, seasonal ingredients, styled in an appealingly modern way.
At Searcys, sustainability is not an add-on—it’s embedded in everything we do. In 2023, we launched our Supplier Code of Conduct (SCOC), setting rigorous standards for ethical sourcing, animal welfare, and responsible supply chains. This framework ensures every partner aligns with our vision for environmental, social, and economic responsibility.
We can access to over 50 social enterprise and B Corp suppliers through our pioneering “Sourced with Purpose” initiative to champion smaller organisations and social enterprises. This program balances local provenance with positive social impact, reinforcing our commitment to community and sustainability.
Our efforts extend beyond sourcing. We operate under 25 ESG pledges across all venues, track food waste meticulously, and redistribute surplus through partners like Too Good to Go, while collaborating with clients to reduce waste at source.
